My name is Ken Alexopoulos.
I am a writer.
I have yet to understand what that means other than randomly pounding at a keyboard with all the zeal of a monkey on a serious cocaine-inspired spirit quest.
I've written a few things and they've been received with positive results.
The latest finished project would be I Am A Cowboy under the pseudonym of Alexander Kurtis, which is a moniker I will use to differentiate between the more serious pieces of writing and those intended to be humourous.
If you don't laugh at my comedic attempts it's not because I fail to be funny, it's because you didn't understand the joke.

"I Am A Cowboy" can be summed up just as well with a lengthy description as it can by the title alone.
Wyatt is a cowboy and one of the last remaining eligible bachelors in the small town of Fort Dwyer, Wyoming. Due to his appearance, the townsfolk are constantly at odds with each other to see which one of their daughters might be the one to pull him away from his ranch. Wyatt, however, seems content to lead the fairly simple life of tending to his cattle and grooming his horse. He doesn't have many wants or needs and prefers to get his hands dirty rather than leave a task to another. This mentality causes him to ride into town in order to purchase some nails and a hammer, an act that embroils young Wyatt in the vicious beating of a shopkeep's overly eager suitor. The resulting media attention forces him into the public eye and throws his meticulously ordered existence into complete disarray. |
Writing On Hold Until Further Notice
Two children, born to herald a new race, are torn apart by a conspiracy a century in the making. One learns to fend for himself, using what little tutelage he receives under the watchful eye of a kind mentor, and becomes a symbol of the great American ideal. The other, raised by a program whose specific purpose is the complete and utter freedom of all mankind, grows into the incarnation of free will and unrestrained impulse. As the years progress, they eventually find their way to each other, only to find that the flow of time does nothing to heal the scars of the soul. |
Work In Progress
Anima Libera is a series of self-contained short stories that follow the life of a single character, rather than a lengthy epic that spans across a broad landscape. Although it happens to follow continuity, each story arch could be enjoyed separately without the need to commit to the Herculean undertaking of seeking out a vast library of work to immerse themselves within the plot. The stories themselves taken place within Southern Ontario, specifically pulling focus to the city of Toronto as a point of origin, fully exploring the various neighbourhoods and delving into the atmosphere of each. Sex, Lies, And Rosen Gates (the first three days of Rick's week-long adventure) begins with a young woman, empty of will and devoid of spirit, in the bowels of a subterranean temple. Her life, sheltered and linear as it has become, is sacrificed and consumed on a weekly basis until the memory of who she had once been is all but replaced with the constant torrent of pleasure and abuse. Rick, a 'civic shaman', is tasked by the city of Toronto to assist a young woman of vague description, aided only by the smallest of clues, that she had - at one time - been a guest under the roof of his current apartment, a single bedroom flat on the upper level of one James McIntyre's home in the suburban sprawl of Forest Hill. With the assistance of divine happenstance and an addictive streak towards the paranormal, Rick uncovers a dark cult perverting Gnostic ritual as he fights against a primal hunger of his own.
