Lela Markham
Lela Markham in the pen name of an Alaskan-based writer and soon-to-be publisher of The Willow Branch, Book 1 of the Daermad Cycle.
Raised in a house built of books by two voracious readers, she told tales as soon as she could talk. Alaska's extreme Interior hammers residents with winters that encourage reading and writing while summers of 24-hour sunshine provide immense opportunities for adventure. Of course, Lela writes fantasy. She shares this life with her husband, two children, a (suspected) sentient husky, and an extremely happy Labrador retriever. She is on the web in more places than she really wants to contemplate thanks to Word Press's sharing system, but mainly Lela can be found at her Word Press sites: Aurorawatcherak, where she babbles about a wide range of topics and The Willow Branch, which is writer and Daermad Cycle oriented (it's also where you can find an excerpt of The Willow Branch and Mirklin Wood). Lela is also on Facebook here and here and Authonomy, where you can read some works in progress, including an excerpt of Mirklin Wood, Book 2 of the Daermad Cycle. You can contact Lela old-school at [email protected]. |
A healer must mend a fractured kingdom and bring two enemy races together before a greater enemy destroys them both.
Fate took Prince Maryn by surprise, leaving Celdrya to tear itself apart. A century later, an army amasses against the warring remains of the kingdom as prophesy sends a half-elven healer on a journey to find the nameless True King. Padraig lacks the power to put the True King on the throne, yet compelled by forces greater than himself, Padraig contends with dark mages, Celtic goddesses, human factions and the ancient animosities of two peoples while seeking a myth. With all that distraction, a man might meet the True King and not recognize him.
